On Thursday, November 13th (10:00), St. Cecilia School will be participating in the Great Southern California ShakeOut along with millions of other people in our region. Our goal is to ensure our school community is as prepared as we can be in the event of a large earthquake. Families can help in two ways. First, you may arrive at school at 11:00 a.m. to sign out and pick up your children for the day. Second, you can go this web site (http://www.shakeout.org/) to find out how your own family can prepare for possible emergencies.
St. Cecilia School has a love for all creatures. On October 3rd, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the school participated in a special ceremony called the Blessing of Animals. The campus was filled with a large procession of pets, everything from dogs and cats to hamsters and even turtles. Father Al from St. Cecilia Parish conducted the spiritual ceremony. Students, parents, and grandparents enjoyed the opportunity to take their animal companions to school for a special blessing.

Walking With Jesus in Faith, Hope, and Love
As we move into the month of November, we remember our loved ones who have passed away as well as our saints. This month provides us with many opportunities to teach our children about our belief that God loves us and created all of us to share eternal life with Him. The lives of the saints are great examples of people who were called to live heroic lives for their faith. May we model their faithfulness in all that we do each day. St. Cecilia and St. Valerian, pray for us.
